RUSH DIXON
“SOLLEMNITAS”
My work transforms scenes of decay and neglect into narratives that challenge viewers’ perceptions. I seek not only to document scenes as they are, but tell stories since forgotten. In this project, I aim to capture the unnerving fear of isolation in the form of environmental portraits.
I can feel the history of these locations and I associate myself with them. My intention is to highlight a detached reality, I carefully chose spaces that are forgotten and neglected. In addition to the buildings themselves, it's about spaces in which there's a hidden story that few, if not no one has experienced.
My main motivation has been to document the lost memories found in the remains of the abandoned and to expand my viewers knowledge of the world they live in.
