EVA DEMING
“FASHION KILLS”
Over the past couple of years, my work has shaped me into the artist that I am today. My art reflects my creative process, where I transform my imagination into reality. My goal as an artist is to provoke thought and invite unique interpretations from each viewer. For my Senior Thesis, I am expanding on my junior exhibition series Fashion Kills, which depicts a fashion crime scene in the cutthroat fashion world. This new story will have a cinematic, film-like quality to it. The visual style will draw heavily on this “Retro 1980s Americana” aesthetic with bold colors and nostaglic fashion to create a timeless mood. Inspired by The Conversation by Francis Ford Coppola, this project will explore those themes of voyeurism and miscommunication. The narrative will constantly shift throughout the story, leaving the audience questioning what’s real, who’s involved, and what’s being hidden- immersing themselves in the mystery of this cutthroat fashion world.
